It all started with Allure, not my career (though coincidentally that started there, too), but my love for beauty. I discovered Allure at 14. I had never seen a magazine devoted entirely to beauty. Before then, I would buy every magazine I could just to get my beauty fix. I spent hours devouring each page, trying every tip, and studying the mastheads like I was preparing for the SATs. I displayed my Allure collection like most teenagers displayed soccer trophies—I was never much of an athlete. Flash forward, and out of some twist of fate, plus plenty of hard work, I was hired as a summer intern at the very magazine that started it all.
Since that internship and graduating from the University of Missouri with a degree in magazine journalism, I have worked as a beauty editor and writer on both the East and West Coasts. My work has appeared in publications including Allure, Cosmopolitan, Women's Health, POPSUGAR, Good Housekeeping, and Seventeen and for brands including MURAD and IPSY.
